Test Format
The official U.S. citizenship exam requires 6 correct answers out of 10 questions to pass. Questions are selected from the 100 study questions.
How the Official Test Works
- The USCIS officer will ask you up to 10 questions from the 100 study questions.
 - You must correctly answer 6 out of 10 questions to pass the civics portion.
 - The officer will stop once you have answered 6 questions correctly.
 - The test is conducted orally, not in writing.
 - You will also need to read, write, and speak English to pass the language portion.
